How do I implement Ethernet connectivity for an HP1000 or HP2000 HandPunch terminal?

It is possible to implement Ethernet communication for the HP1000 and HP2000, if you follow the steps below.

By selecting the HP3000 or HP4000 in the software, Ethernet connectivity can be handled easily. The software will function correctly with these settings, even though the HandPunch is an HP1000 or HP2000.

  1. Select HP3000 or HP4000 in the Pendulum device configuration to activate TCP/IP connectivity.

  2. HP reader address must be 0 (Zero). All other numbers are rejected by the NET/232 adapter.

  3. NET/232 adapter port must be changed from 10001 to 3001.

  4. Follow NET/232 setup in the adapter user guide.
