Close Time and Attendance if open.
Verify that the clock is connected to the PC using ONLY the cable and adapter provided.
If using a USB to serial adapter, was it purchased through Acroprint?
If it was not, you will need to verify through the adapters manufacturer that the adapter is functioning properly and what com port it is emulating.
You will need to know your operating system in order to complete the following steps.
If you have an adapter purchased through Acroprint, open Device Manager:
- In Windows 98, right click on My Computer and select Properties. Click the Device Manager tab.
- In Windows 2000 and Windows XP, right click on My Computer and select Properties. Click the Hardware tab. In the middle of the window, under the heading Device Manager, click the button that says Device Manager.
Verify the USB adapter is installed properly. (Note: Windows NT4 does not support USB.)
If you are not using a USB adapter, Open Device Manager and verify the Com port settings.
After verifying settings, open Time and Attendance.
Select Auto Detect to attempt to find your clock.
