Open Time and Attendance.
Open Setup.
Once you are finished with this process, you should not enter Setup again. Please be certain when making your selections.
The first screen will look like the image below
Select your Pay Period Type.
For Weekly or Bi-Weekly Pay Periods
- Set the date that your NEXT pay period will start.
- Set the Overtime Thresholds for Daily Level 1.
- Set the number of hours per day you want an employee to have to work before they begin to earn overtime. If you do not pay your employees Daily Overtime, set this to 24.
- Set the number of hours per week you want an employee to have to work before they begin to earn overtime. If you do not pay your employees Weekly Overtime, set this to 168.
- If you pay your employees Level 2 overtime (Double Time), set the values for Overtime Level 2 accordingly.
- If you pay your employees overtime for all hours worked on the 7th day in a row, check the Enable 7th Day Overtime check box.
For Semi-Monthly and Monthly Pay Periods
- Set the date(s) that your pay period(s) will begin each month.
- Set the number of hours per day you want an employee to have to work before they begin to earn overtime. If you do not pay your employees Daily Overtime, set this to 24.
- Weekly Overtime will be available on version 5.10 and higher.
- Set the number of hours per week you want an employee to have to work before they begin to earn overtime. If you do not pay your employees Weekly Overtime, set this to 168.
- Set the day of the week you want your overtime week to begin in the First Day of Weekly OT Cycle drop down.
For all Pay Period Types
- Set the Pay Interval Round to the number of minutes you want your employees to be accountable to.
- Set the Max Time On Clock to a value greater than the most amount of time an employee would work in a day, but less than 24.
Select the More button in the bottom right corner of the window.
Verify the Daylight Saving Time information. If you are in an area that does not observe Daylight Saving Time, un-check the Auto Daylight Savings check box.
Do not change the Day Change Offset from 0:00.
Leave the Clock Terminal Printer Type at parallel.
Set the Date Format to the format you would like to see your dates listed.
Set the Time Totals Format to the format you would like to see your times listed.
Set the Time of Day Format to 12 Hour for AM/PM or 24 Hour for military time.
If you would like to extend the length of time that the employee message displays on the terminal, Check the Extend Employee Message Timeout check box.
Click OK to close the More window.
Click OK to close the Setup Window.
From now on, open Setup as little as possible. If you need to check your settings, run a Clock Rules Report.
